Things that, despite time and distance, never change.
The lox and goat cheese scramble at the B & O. The eggs are perfectly scrambled and there's a healthy dose of lemon to brighten it all up. I never have room for the accompanying potatoes and English muffins, but the raspberry jam is too good not to dip into with my fork.
Root beer floats (thanks to Katie for making an A&W-and-ice-cream-run while I kept an eye on the ziti), eaten on the couch while watching the last episode of season two of "Sex and the City."
Orangette's archives. I'm going to make her sausages with grapes, accompanied by roasted thymey potatoes, on Tuesday.
The flecks of vanilla bean in Breyer's Natural Vanilla ice cream.
Than Brothers pho, of a winter's night.
New discovery: Trader Joe's spicy feta dip. My advice? Don't even bother with the crackers. It's good enough to eat out of the container with a spoon.
Pancetta, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and San Marzano tomatoes. Food geek, you say? I wear the title with pride.
Things that, despite time and distance, never change.
And what are you all thankful for?
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow cooks.
